Hey, okay I was hoping for some advice.

Last December I began the long journey of getting in shape, with the intention of being in swimsuit condition by last May. ( I am a guy ) Unfortunately, I was unable to reach that goal. I did however, lose thirty pounds of fat, gain a few in muscle, and shot up 3 inches. ( I am 15) I was 232 lbs, on the day I started my diet ( fluctuating between 230-240) My first month was the most successful, 15 pounds, and assurance that the Atkins diet my father raved about for years was effective. The following months were more difficult, with the Atkins curse taking hold, I started craving the sugars and starches my body was lacking. So over January, February, and March I yo-yoed,losing and gaining constantly. ( Normally I would stick to the diet for two weeks and go off of it for two weeks.) Finally in April, I shaved off ten pounds from my lowest weight and hit 200. And in the following months I have stalemated, not losing any, and possibly gaining some back. Trust me, there is a question here, I just wanted to give you a back story to understand my situation. I have been walking 8-14 miles everyday, and I am starting a jogging program this Monday to cut out the lengthy walking time ( 3-6 hours daily)

My question is, does anyone have any recommendations on a workout program, diet, or really anything to help my knock out the final 20-25 pounds. I have four months until my year is over, and I would like to be fit by then. Anything and everything would be helpful, Thanks!

GET OFF ATKINS!! Our bodies are unable to process the amount of protein that you are eating therefore your body will become toxic. You need the right amount of protein, carbs and fat for your body to perform normally. Protein is for muscle and repair (among other things), carbs are your fuel (among other things) and fat is essential to your body's performance. You cannot cut out one or the other and expect to get the results you want. The first weight loss you experienced was the water weight associated with cutting out carbs. You have plateaued because your body is 1. fighting your food intake and 2. became accustomed to the same thing so it no longer is going to change. 3-6 hours of daily walking is ridiculous. I don't know who recommended that to you but it was not good advice. By the way, congratulations on your weight loss. I don't know what you are eating, when you are eating, what exact type of exercise you are doing and what type of walking but you need to shake it up. Get some books and begin reading. Look into interval training and learn what it is about. Find something you like to do. Hike, ride a bike, play basketball, skate, throw a ball to your dog, sprint, run bleachers, run in the sand, etc. Put carbs back in your diet. Spinach, brocolli, green beans, carrots, almonds, yams. Stay away from white sugar such as pasta, bread, white potatoes and anything that is empty calories that has no value. Drink only water, no sodas, juice, etc. Good luck.

A different kind of cardio, and exercises that workout muscles you havnt worked out before. Hindu pushups are supposed to be really challenging. (just google it and it should come up with otther hindu versions of exersices)

If your going to keep walking ue ankle weights and hold weights in your hands (or get wrist weights)

I dont really know what other kinds of workouts youve been doing...

h and if you drink sodas, cut those out, they hold onto fat.
