Honestly, am I fat?

I'm fourteen, 5'3", and weight 125. Well, my stepdad and step brother always call me fat. Like today I told my stepdad I needed new jeans because my size 3's were too tight, and he was like "Well, you better start excercising because you lay on your lazy *** all day" and my stepbrother told me I should start riding my bike more often so I could get the flab off my legs, but I don't think I have much flab on my legs, only on the inner thighs. So I don't know. Am I?

you are not fat.......u wear a size 3 or im guessing maybe a five since u said ur jeans were tight.....dont listen to what anyone else has to say.....if you feel good about yourself then u shouldnt let someone elses words get in the way of that....and if you truly want to lose weight you could just start eating a little healthier and exercise too.....you are not fat!!!!

I would say no, its typical for guys to say girls are fat, even your stepdad and bro. At your age, you might start to gain the little flab on your thighs, but that is all part of being a girl and growing up. Most guys that are not related to you will like that when you get older. Don't worry about them or let them bring your self esteem down. My wife is 5'6" and weighs 140, and I think she is perfect. So 5'3" 125, isn't that far off for you.

You are fourteen and you do need to exercise not necessarily because of what they say to you but for your own health. Now, 125 pounds at 5"3" is not considered obese. If you are comfortable with the way you look that is what is important. No one should tell another person how they should or shouldn't look. Like my mother always said "beauty is only skin deep". We are special just the way we are!



You should consider the size of your frame along with your weight and your height. If you eat balanced meals and have healthy snacks so you are getting nourishment every 2-3 hours and get a healthy amount of exercise you will do fine. Watch food labels for sugars - if sugar, corn syrup, lactose, maltose, fructose, dextrose, etc. are in the top 3-5 ingredients listed you should avoid it. Simple sugars will add fat and so will simple carbs. When eating carbohydrates remember to eat whole grains. Remember to drink adequate water so that fat won't stick...flush it out. 8-10 glasses a day is good.



Think positive about yourself and don't let negative people influence your thinking.

well 125 lbs and a size 3 dont seem to match unless you are well endowed greatly in the bust. At fourteenn, if you dont smoke , you should grow a few more inches and 125 will be great otherwise smoking will mess all that up. It is healthy to exercise and have a real sense of contentment for who you are. Family always likes to tease the girl and call her pig or fat- that has been going on for generations!!!

No your not, im 4'11'' and 115 and im not fat at all, ur 4 inches taller an only 10 lbs heavier so your perfect for your height. It is horrible that they would say such things to you an it soundsl ike they are insecure themselves, if your step brother is saying stuff like that to you it sounds like he learned to be negative from his father. They are gonna do some damage to your self esteem if they dont knock it off, an it sounds like they already have! I advise you do not listen to them they are just being jerks and you need to seriously ignore them. Have you told your mother that they are talking to you like this? Odds are the step father talks to her the same way. Im sure your beautiful if your concernd ask a close friend what she thinks, she will be more honost with you than a couple of insecure guys. Good luck try and ignore them i know its hard, i grew up with an assshole of a brother he called me names all the time when i was a kid and it had a major effect on my self esteem.

With your height of 5'3" and weighing 125lbs is right on target, hun. I do not think you have anything to worry about according to your frame size and height. It does bother me that your stepdad and stepbrother are putting you down because they think you are over weight. They should be praising the things you do and not using negative words to bring you down.



If you are happy with your body then that is all that matters. Love yourself! :)

Nah I think you're at the middleish end of the spectrum for your weight, people wear it differently so depending on where it is on your body you could look bigger, a picture could help. but you can find clothes to fit your body type better so it looks good. i think a lot of guys expect girls to be really skinny so you could be getting a really biased view, but just eat healthy and exercise and find a weight that YOU like. also you might want to spend less tiem around them all that negative talk can get to your self esteem after a while. and you said you were fourteen so its normal to be kind of awkward at that age and growing into your body but as you get older you will grow into your body more. no one looks their absolute best when they're 14 years old, so don't worry. you're probably getting more curves too so its normal to look different and gain a little weight because you're going through puberty, so your body shape could end up a little different. don't worry. good luck.

um.. i cant really help you because there is no picture.

i am also fourteen and i weigh 130 and im 5'6

but its just cus i have heavy bones.

my gf. is 5'2 and she weighs 100

so it all depends.

i suggest that if u think ur fat.

u should start a sport. maybe like soccer or swimming.

where you burn alot of fat off.

its still summer and if u start exersizing and u take everything seriously u can probably loose 10 pounds.

this means NO JUNK FOOD

try it out and it will make u look and feel better

You dont sound fat at all. You may be out of shape but that is different than fat. Its always good to exercise to tone up though. Dont let them bring you down. If you are comfortable with the way you look thats all that matters. Dont worry about what other people think or say. God made you beautiful!

the healthy weight range for your age is 89-132 according to BMIs and national averages, etc. So you are in a healthy range.



If you're in a size 3 or 4... then you are definitely NOT fat... and in fact seems to me like your weight can be attributed to a healthy amount of muscle too.



Your step brother probably says those things because your step dad does.



If your step dad is TRULY saying that crap to you... tell your mom. If she doesn't believe you or doesn't care... tell your school counselor or call the child protection services. That is verbal and emotional abuse, and he should not be saying that stuff to you unless it is in TOTAL jest and he thinks its all just fun. And if THAT is the case, you need to tell him it bothers you and you want him to stop.

No you don't sound fat. Never listen to what guys say about your weight anyway.

Maybe you relaxed all summer and weren't as active, so that's why he called you lazy. But they should not be talking to you that way. That's really disrespectful of them to say those things to you, especially since you're only 13. Most 13 year old girls are self-conscious about their bodies/weight as it is. Don't let males talk to you that way, and if they say things like that, just ignore it all!!!

I think your stepdad and brother are jerks. You are not fat. That is the perfect weight/height ratio. Exercise to stay healthy, not to lose weight.

you are in the perfectly average wight for your age and height. Exercising is still very important for you to be at your healthiest. Keep exercising and having fun and eating healthy!
