If you have used Hoodia as a weight loss aid, what were your experiences? Where did you purchase Hoodia?

I saw a news report on it that said you could be buying sawdust in a capsule, since Hoodia is completely unregulated by the FDA. It may be hard to know what your getting. It's always a good idea to see a trusted doctor, and let him or her put you on a diet.

Hoodia is an excellent appetite suppressant. While it does work differently for every person, it can definitely enhance your exercise and diet plan. Your results will vary, but appetite suppression works immediately, so based on your diet plan, you can start to experience weight loss soon after you start taking it.

I take a supplement caleld Herbalean. It contains Hoodia for appetite suppression, but it also contains Ma Huang Ephedra for an energy boost. and yes, the ban on ephedra was lifted by the FDA and it is legal to get on the market!

Herbalean is made by the company that originally produced MetaboLife, and it's an extended release formula wtih 77 trace minerals and 14 herbs to boost the effects of the Hoodia and Ephedra.

I've been taking it for a couple months now and get a load of energy through the whole day and I don't have the sweet cravings - I'm also not starving at each meal, so that helps me eat a lot less. I'm losing weight, but not as fast as I'd like because i've been working extra hours and haven't been eating that well or exercising as much. Still, I'm losing, not gaining!

I tried 100% Hoodia and......

Hoodia has worked for me...and with no side effects.

Check with your doctor before starting any weight loss program.

For all you doubters, here is the prior feedback for another Answers user who followed my advice:

very good comment i lost 2 lbs in a week

i think i can almost get in my leather dress, i can hit the town in no time

**** VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO GET RIPPED OFF ---

#1. Be sure you are buying pure Hoodia...look for the import certificate on the website. No matter the price, if they do not display this, you really do NOT know what you are getting!

#2. Be sure it is 100% Hoodia & not mixed w/other herbs, etc.!!

#3. Keep in mind it stops your hunger pangs…you MUST remember to break your habit to always eat at certain times.

#4. Drink a full 8oz. glass of water with it!

Hoodia (HOOD-ee-uh) gordonii - A genus of 10 to 20 species from southwestern Africa.

Hoodia gordonii is the stoneage wonder plant found throughout the dry arid regions of the South western African continent now on the verge of making history in the fight against obesity. It is a genus belonging to the Asclepiadaceae family which consists of approximately 20 species. Used to stop hunger, quench thirst, and provide energy among other things since prehistoric times, Hoodia gordonii was first discovered by the San tribesmen and women to get through the most difficult of times.

You can read a good article about how it works at:

Hoodia does not work for everyone. To be honest, you'd be better off getting your diet in order and following an exercise regimen, which is a proven weight loss method.

Hi,

My wife and I take Dr. Bill's Choice Pure Hoodia and it works well for us. You should know that that Hoodia is simply an appetite suppressant. The action it has on your body will reduce your appetite but it will NOT completely take away your hunger. Two of the reasons it can't do this are:

1) It isn't a pharmaceutical drug -- these can be engineered so that all hunger signals are reduced or eliminated. In my opinion this isn't safe long-term but it can be helpful in certain medical situations.

2) Hoodia, while being accepted by your body as glucose, does not interfere with the neurotransmitter response that is controlled by your brain. That is, since your brain is fueled by 100% carbohydrate-derived glucose, if the level of glucose in your body drops too low, signals will be sent to encourage you to consume foods that will result in glucose uptake -- this is what you're probably experiencing as 'hunger' and it's a legitimate response.

I've been in health practice for a bit more than 20 years and I'm convinced that the Dr. Bill's Choice Pure Hoodia is one of the best available (I've tried about a dozen of them with the help of hundreds of my clients). If you want to read more about it you can go to: www.betterlifetoday.com/hoodia...

By the way, one of your readers suggested that if you visit 'newstarget.com' you'll find out that hoodia is a scam. The person who gave this answer should have actually read the articles. What the news articles stated, and which has been confirmed by more than one source, is that the particular company in question was scamming people -- not that the supplement hoodia itself was a scam.

Hoodia, as a dietary supplement, has been tested in placebo-controlled studies as well as in 'real life' situations. As long as you're taking enough of the substance (i.e., approximately 3 grams per day) and as long as it's standardized for potency (as Dr. Bill's Choice Pure Hoodia is), then it should work.

A question you need to keep in mind is this: How many calories are you taking in each day? This is important since your body requires a minimum of calories to function properly. The amount of calories you need can calculated by determining your BMR. It is very important to know how many calories your body needs prior to attempting to restrict your caloric intake.

Yes, it works! And... 90% of the Hoodia being sold is fake!

Read the report on this site (below). It's why I trust only Hoodia-Pure and this merchant.

Read the report, "Beware - Fake Hoodia is Everywhere."

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
