Hello everybody! Imma 15 years old boy whose height is 5ft 7 (172 cm) and weight is 180lbs (80kg i guess). Im obviously out of shape, and a month i ago i said i would change it. Since march i joined my town gym, and i go there every day, and i do 1 day cardio (20 min treadmiller, 20min cycling also quad, claf and other leg related muscles) and the next day muscle exercises (20 min treadmiller, biceps, triceps, shoulders, abs, chest) alterning everyday. Based on what the fitness machines say, i should be burning 300 calories in the cardio day and 150 in the muscle day (only treadmiller though). I dont burn a lot of calories because im low at cardios, but im improving (my goal is to run 15min without stopping, though i can run only for 5). My first question is: is this enough? Considering that i lift 20lbs for biceps for one arm (dont laugh at me) and i run at a speed of 6km/h(also if you can give me any advice for lasting longer in cardio would be appreciated). Secondly, based on myfitnesspal i should be consuming 1700-1900 calories a day, and i would like to know if it is okay (I DONT EAT JUNK FOOD NEITHER SODAS ETC.) i just eat 4 times a day, on breakfast milk and biscuists, lunch( i do it at 2:45pm because of school) i eat mostly pasta, i eat one apple for snack and at dinner i eat mostly veggies, lentil soup(im indian) etc also every hour i try to drink a cup of water. So is this eating habit good or not? If not could you please tell me a good diet. thx

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.

If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which

will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow

underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without

exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For

diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food

after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on

your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If

you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey

cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your

diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to

calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,

start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the

most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a

lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,

disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target

your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a

bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you

to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

Hi there,

Yoga can be a great friend in every diet. It's all about hormones balance. There are no "bad" hormones. But when hormones get unbalanced, bad things happen in your body. Your body releases cortisol when you're under stress. It's part of the whole “fight or flight” response. Increased cortisol levels could be making you fat. The kind of fat you are most likely to store from elevated cortisol is called visceral fat — the dangerous belly fat that’s linked to diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels.

I'm following this great online program that teaches how to use YOGA to lose weight. You should check it out as well. This is the link of the site: http://yogafitness.toptips.org
