15yrs old 290lbs...I need help getting healthy!?

Okay im not gonna lie im huge... im just about 16 years old and 290 lbs! i cant stand it...i don't want to end up with diabetes like my dad... im eating better and i was wondering what can i do to drop pounds...working out just aint my thing cause my sis and mum laugh whenever i try... could walking help?

Listen I was 300 lbs. a couple years back... I am healthier and much lighter... I have a lot of advice for you... This hits home because I was your age when I started losing the weight... So please contact me I'm willing to help you as much as I possibly can...

Walking is a good, low impact exercise. Try to walk a little faster then you normally do, just to the point at which you become aware of your heart beat, but not to where it's pounding. You should avoid heavy cardio, save that for when you're trying to loose the last few pounds. At 15 with that much extra weight you should have a significant amount of muscle mass, you have to make those muscles work for you. Improve your metabolism by decreasing the amount of food you eat at one time, but increase the amount of times you eat during a day. Don't skip breakfast. Try to work in something small between breakfast and lunch (apple, banana, granola bar), the same goes between lunch and dinner. Avoid seconds at any meal. No midnight snacks, anything eaten before bed just gets stored as fat. Have a plan and set realistic goals. Starting with "I wanna be 150 lbs", isn't realistic at this point, and you'll become discouraged. Your first goal should be around 250 for now. Once each goal is reached you can step up the vigor of your exercises to achieve the next one. Good luck.

First yes walking is great for you, especially on an empty stomach.Next, i need to tell you aboutmy friend. My friend is 15 and weighs 250 pounds her father also has diabetes. She tries to eat right and she is very active but no matter what she does to drop weight it just doesn't come off. that''s because she has a layer of muscle. She doesn't look fat. it is all muscle. dounside is that she doesn't weigh very little. upside, she is strong as an ox. the point is , dont measure by weight. I weigh 120, and i have a waistline of 24 inches at 5'1. BMI of 12% fat. the best thing for you would be to exersize after you diet. so that they don't make fun of you for exersizing until you have already lost some weight. or better yet do both at the same time theyll stop laughing when they see you look better than them.



The Plan

eat a big breakfast with eggs and fruit or oatmeal.

snack on fruits and veggies the rest of the day. Eat only every three hours. when you get hungry when youre not supposed to be eating then you should go for a walk around. or turn on the tv. or you need to do youre makeup or something that will keep you busy a while. as for exercise, try to do handstands or cartwheels. if you feel self concious then you should do that only when you are alone or in you're room. try crouching down with youre hands on the floor and youre knees bent. then jump up quickly as high as you can and land back in the same position as you started in, do that repetitively. another one is to kick youre left foot to youre right hand. alternate between right and left sides with the corresponding leg. also you need to put youre feet together and stand on youre tippy toes and then go back down to normal do them all at least 10 times each every morning before breakfast and every night before bed. stretching is also a good idea to do before each exercise. Drink 8 glasses of water. don't drink any more pop or anything but water and a small amout of milk. try not to eat 3 hours before you go to bed and get lots of sleep. I don't want to hear that you went into the kitchen and pigged out on ice cream at 10:30 pm like most people ( myself included) have done. Also another thing about youre family, sorry but they sound quite rude, but you need to tell them that you are trying to lose weight and persevere not matter what they say. Tell your parents you want to lose weight. You start by eating healthy. Try to find out what you are eating daily, find out the calories, and once you bring down the calories you are eating, you will start losing weight. Eventually, you will need to work out. You do not like working out? Well, you can start slow, do 10 jumping jacks, 10 squats everyday for 1 week. next week, do 15 jumping jacks, 15 squats. next week, do 20 jumping jackts, 20 squats. Keep building it up. Make sure to drink A LOT of water. At least a gallon of water through the day, maybe more. Whenever you get hungry and it is not lunch or dinner time, drink water. This is how you lose weight.

I would recommend you seeing a doctor if you having this much pain. This is something that needs to be seen by a professional. It is best to be safe. You may get various answers here on the internet and none be accurate. It could be anything from a pulled muscle to a bladder infection. So please seek help and I hope you feel well again soon so you can continue with the skating and other sports. I wish you well with your life.

For someone so obese, you can lose weight more fast than normal weighing people. Just have some willpower and you can do it!

-Get rid of junk food, fatty food.

-Eat healthy. Egg whites, fish, chiken, vegetables, fruits, yogurt

-It should be hard to get off your bad eating habbits. substitute your snacks to fruits, veggies, fat free popcorn, or even 1popsicle a day.

-Excercise. Walking is a good excercise with not much strain to your heavy body

-Seek doctor to check up on your health

Walking is great, anything to keep moving and active. Get some dumbells and workout in the privacy of your room. See doctor and get checked up. You could have a metabolic / hormonal disorder that could be corrected with medication.

normally i dont recommend thiese diets but they help fast weight loss and they arent unhealthy

a low carb diet consisting of 60% protein 30% fat 10% carbs

basically eating

egg whites some yolks

tuna shrimp salmon chicken breast turkey breast whey protein powder

natural peanut butter peanuts almonds olive oil olives avacados

and have green veges that's ur carb source

drink water and green tea and black coffee if u want



start w/ 2000cals a day of mostly protein fats and lil carbs

1200cals from protein or 300g yes it's alot but it's necessary i suggest whey protein powder as an easier source oh and fat free cottage cheese

600cals from fat or 66g fat

and 120cals from carbs or 30g carbs

so 300gprotein 66g fat 30g carbs

this diet is designed to burn fat try it

and yes walking is good

eat lots of small meals a day, drink alot of water like 8 glasses and try to drink a glass before a meal if you can, for walking get a step counter, try to walk 10,000 steps a day. set small goals for yourself and when you achieve them you will feel great!! good luck!

some tips are

1) The very first thing u should keep in your mind and that is the extra weight u put on didn’t come in overnight so it is not possible and also unrealistic to take it off quickly. You have to show patience. Please remember learning to eat well and exercise is the only solution to long-term weight loss.

2) The 2nd important thing is that your body weight is controlled by the number of calories you eat and the number of calories you use each day. So, if you consume fewer calories than you burn, you will lose weight. You can do this by becoming more physically active or by eating less.

3) The 3rd important thing is never skip ur meal or go to a crash diet. Don’t ever try to starve urself. It is very important to understand that when you skip a meal or go on a crash diet, the result is that it slows your metabolism to conserve your energy. And when you lose weight too quickly for a few days, your body thinks it is threatened with starvation and goes into survival mode. It fights to conserve your fat stores. There fore keep in mind never try to skip ur meal, especially breakfast and always try to take food on time

4) Before starting any type of diet, weight yourself and note ur whole body measurement in a dairy. Then after every week weigh your self again and compare with earlier measurements and see how much weight u r losing. Record a goal that you can reach in one month that is 4 to 8 pounds less than you weigh now. Set a goal you know you can achieve.

Now some tips how to set ur diet plan.

5) Start taking your food with out any oil. Try to use boiled/steamed vegetables, meat, and lot of salad. U can eat fresh and raw fruits, boiled/steamed chicken or red meat too but no pork. Please note and put it in ur mind that nothing fried or oily.

6) No Junk Food, Potato & Sugar Please.

7) Drink at least 3 ltr of water daily. Make ur habit to drink water as much as u can. In this way you are not only flushing out toxins, you are also teaching your body that it no longer needs to store water. When you feel starving, drink it as much as u can. Pls remember water is a natural appetite suppressant.

8) Make you habit to use brown bread & sugar. Skimmed or low fat milk & yogurt.

9) First try to avoid any type of soft drink but if u want to taste some thing sweet then drink any soft drink (remember use regular one, no diet cola pls) once in a week

10) Make ur habit to eat once a day a vegetable soap or Thai soup (as ur dinner or lunch) But remember no corn flour in it.

11) Just look at your food portion. It is much better to eat several small meals a day (like 5-6 healthy meals a day) than eat either one or two or three huge meal a day.

12) The most important factor in any weight loss plan is how many calories you consume each day, and eating too few is the most common mistake. Divide ur diet into 5-6 healthy meals a day (1 plate size only)

13) One bowl of oatmeal can be taken as a break fast

14) Smoking & any kind of hard drink is not allowed in this diet.

15) Try to chew ur every food as much as u can, and then swallow it into ur stomach.

16) Watch out ur every drink and every single piece of ur food. Stay away from fatty foods, junk foods, synthetic foods, foods with preservatives and too much carbohydrate. Don’t try to take foods that are made of white flour for example white bread, cakes, pasta etc and food contain sugar such as cookies, ice cream, candy etc.

17) Remember after every 15 days you can take once in a while with a little treat any thing u like. But remember just a small portion. For example one small personal pizza or one small burger or small pastry.

18) Try to adopt some healthy timing. Early to rise and early to bed. No late sittings.

19) People usually want Quick and Easy result, we are all impatient. U have to be patient in terms of ur weight loss and never give up. Always keep in mind that slow and steady win the race.

20) At least take this diet for 3 to 6 months. When u feel that u have achieved ur desired weight then make this is as a Life Style change for ur entire life. Remember do not focus on just losing weight; try to concentrate on diet plan forever so that u will never have to loose weight again. Occasionally u can take junk food too.

21) You have to keep in mind that above plan is a not a quick thin program. Don’t try to deceive ur body. It will destroy your metabolism and in the future the proportion of gaining weight is much higher and easier than today.

22) Never ever go for any type of Diet pills or any drug which claim that it will reduce the weight quickly. Taking Diet pills will kill u.

23) Exercise: Rule-of -Thumb: remember the formula for weight loss and that is Diet= 70% Exercise= 30%. So remember exercise is must with every diet plan.. The best indoor exercise machine is tread mill. Run daily on tread mill for 30 mnts ~ one hour as per ur convenient. If you don’t have Tread Mill then best indoor Exercise is skipping.
