Wow. Any serious gym should have several power racks. I have two in my HOME gym. I'm wondering what equipment they think is more important? Bottomline: find another gym that takes lifting seriously.

Interesting question i was pondering myself yesterday cus my gym was very busy. you could get someone to lift it for you but i wouldn't consider it to be safe if your lifting big and you reach the bottom and can't get back up.

the two ways i do it instead are

1) use a machine with weights on wires you know the ones where you can adjust where the wire comes from. it will need two of these wires one either side of you. adjust the wires so there coming from near the ground then stand inline with the wires so when you pull the wire goes straight upwards. put the usual weight you would have just divide it between the two wires. then pull the weights up so the handles are in line with you shoulders so you have a similar form to a regular squat. then your ready to go just squat down and back up like normal.

2) or just do dumbell squats. so use the same weight as usual just divide it between your arms hold the weights by your side the do a squat just like normal.

the first is the better of the two as it exercises more muscles.

Your just gonna have to go for light weight and high reps till they get one. I would join another gym if they don't get one soon. Squats are the king of lifting
