Basically I've been overdosing on sugar every day for 8 years due to an internal health issue..but I have this under control with medication.

I have to limit sugar by sticking to a low sugar diet...what is the best way to control cravings for sweet things please???

Snack on fruit which releases sugar naturally and will give you energy. NEVER let yourself get too hungry as that is when you crave an instant sugar boost.

Fruit is a good start. Avoid things like ripe bananas and mangoes though, as they're high in sugar.

The Canadian Diabetic Association (can't remember their official name) recommended the GI diet as a way to go. That may be worth investigating for you.

Also try chewing sugar-free gum and eating vegetable-based snacks like carrot sticks, cucumber etc... they're filling and contain very little sugar so you should be completely safe with them

Diabetes is usually treated through a combination of diet (low sugar), exercise and medications/insulin. Milder cases can be controlled with just diet an/or exercise while more severe cases require meds or insulin as well.

Sugar makes you crave more sugar! Go on pure protein(eggs, meats, and hard cheeses) for 3-5 days.Your sweet tooth should subside.

well im diabetic and i can't eat sweets very often. what i done was chew on sugerfree gum. its got no sugar on it as its sugarfree and it keeps you from wanting to eat sugary and sweets. Also whenever someone was eating something sugar i would just smell it(very weird i know) and it would put me off the idea of eating it. Also making little cards and sticking them around you mirror, on your car etc saying do not eat sugar will motavate you into not eating them also telling yourself that its unhealthy and will make you put on waight will put you off the idea :)
