Question:
Medifast vs Nutrisystem - Which is the better one to go with?

I'm seriously thinking of trying out one of these programs but don't know which of the two is better. Nutrisystem seems to have a better more appetizing looking selection than Medifast but it's also more expensive. Marie Osmond credits her recent weight loss to Nutrisystem and also to going on dancing with the stars and I recently heard Genie Francis (Laura from General Hospital) say on the View that she lost 30 pounds by using the Medifast plan. So I'm thinking both of these programs work, but which is better? Have any of you out there tried either one of both of these programs? Which do you recommend? Please don't say to just make healthier eating choices, because I don't have the time to cook so I usually just grab whatever, and it's usually not the healthiest choice. But since the Medifast and Nutrisystem has your meals all planned out and included for a month, I won't have that problem. You just eat what they send you and you'll start to lose weight.

I have not tried either but I believe that the Medifast program will only be short-term as I was under the impression that one consumes a lot of drinks as opposed to actual food. It is sort of like the optifast (believe that it was that one) program that oprah lost all of that weight on in '88 and then quickly regained all of it and then some after going off of the diet. It's really a way of life, the way that one eats and increases one's daily activity that will help to shed the pounds but also keep them at bay.

I've heard that Nutrisystem doesn't always have the choices of entrees that you want sent to your home or it may even contain mold! I'd heard that Jenny Craig is more expensive than nutrisystem but that the food is supposed to have a better flavor. And please stay away from 'la weight loss centers' (think may also be called 'pure weight loss') as there are many complaints on ripoffreport.com as there are complaints against nutri though not sure about jenny craig. To search any of those companies: http://www.ripoffreport.com which consumers post their typically bad experiences.

If you do want to try to find a registered dietician/RD: http://www.eatright.org and they should also have tips on healthful eating.

When out at the restaurant, ask the server to hold the bread, snack mix or chips and salsa which may come before the meal. If you're hungry, you'll be tempted.
