Question:
Do doctors measure height wrong?

I went for a physical today and the nurse measured me as 5'7, but I was measured at school and by my sister and it said I was 5'9. I found it ridiculous because I'm taller than 90% of people in my classes and everybody knows me for my height. Also, the inseam of my legs are 36 inches and no pants fit me and I don't think anybody who is 5'7 has that problem and 2 of my friends are 5'7 and I'm clearly taller than them. The nurse also measured me with the ruler that comes out of the scale, and my back wasn't even against a wall. Is the doctor right or was the scale wrong?

It's possible. Everywhere people measurements can be different. Like stores. Some shoe stores you're a 8, some you're a 7. Or dress stores, sometimes you're a 2 but other companies you can be a 6. It depends. Just go with what you believe is right for you.

Height Scale In Inches

Doctor's height scales are not always accurate and probably not correctly calibrated. I went to the doctor and he measured me at 4 inches below my actual height. I went home, stood against the wall, placed a thin book over my head and someone put a mark where the book was on my head. I stood at four inches higher than I did at the doctor's office.

Doctors heights are accurate. Most of the day we wear shoes. people see us with shoes.the only people who don't see us without shoes are family members when your at home or once in a while your swimming but the sand makes it hard to judge height anyways. So if you are flat footed and you wear one inch shoes then you are considered 5 foot 11 inches. that's how the public sees you as. I am 5 foot 10 flat feet. sometimes I wear 2 inch shoes so I tell people im 6 feet tall and that's not really lying. At the time I am 6 feet tall.

Yeah they do alot of times...sometimes the height scale thingys actually start like 2-3 inches off the ground so you'll be measured like 2-3 inches shorter. I know this because Im in 8th grade and I am 5'11(everyone always calls me tall and stuff like that) and one of the doctors measured me as 5'9. I knew that I'm definetly not 5'9 because 5'9 was my height in the 7th grade. But dont worry! Who cares what the doctor measured you at,it's their problem for measuring it wrong. As long as you know that you ARE 5'9,then you're good.

A variety of things could be going on here. Did your school and sister measure you with your shoes on? Because that isn't your real height (despite so many people wanting it to be).

Did you take off your shoes at the physical? Maybe thats the reason why. But sometimes they make mistakes so i'm not sure.
